Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful New Year’s celebration with people you love!

With the new year comes a renewed sense of possibility and potential. Nearly half of Americans choose to make New Year’s resolutions to start some new project or hobby.

Something to remember, though; you can always make a new resolution. You don’t need to wait for new year’s to roll around to start making better choices for your life.

If you make a resolution and fall off the wagon, don’t stop. Get back on track right away and continue the good work.

Giving up after one mistake is like slashing all the tires on your car just because one went flat.

If you want to learn how to make better resolutions, I just published a Kindle book titled “How to Make Resolutions That Last”

Check it out, and I’d love to hear how it works for you!

Find Your Passion

Find Your Passion

I knew when I took the booking what I was signing up for.

Overnight driving after a gig. 2 hours’ sleep in a hotel room before having to get to a 6am flight out. Napping on the floor during a layover. Getting held up with bumper-to-bumper traffic on the drive from the airport to the next engagement. Being delayed in traffic long enough that the hour buffer I intended to spend getting presentable at the hotel gets eaten up, meaning I have to go straight to the venue feeling grungy.

I went a whole day without eating because I knew I needed those catnaps more than I needed food.

And I love it.

What in the world could possibly be more important than sleeping and eating?Keep Reading

Choose Your Pain

If life is suffering, pick a good reason for it.

What are you willing to suffer for? Everyone wants the success, but not everyone will go through the pain and hardships needed in order to create the success they dream about.

You either choose the pain of working towards success, or you choose the pain of a life lived in compromise.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Excellence grows from passion, not from demands. Be excellent to someone today. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Birthday!

Instead of doing New Year’s resolutions on January 1st, I prefer to make my personal commitments to excellence on my birthday (which happens to be today!).

I’m committing to more action in my personal & professional life, refocusing on the awesome people already in my fantastic network, and making sure I spend a significant time away from the computer. That last one will be difficult.

I’m also going to write the goals I have for myself this year, and put them in a very prominent spot where I’m going to see them every day. Having a constant visual reminder helps keep your mind on task, and motivated to succeed.

So whenever your birthday rolls around, think about what goals you want to achieve in the coming year, and go for it!

If you’ve already made new year’s resolutions, think of it as a recommitment ceremony.
