Taking responsibility for yourself is scary. When something goes wrong, there’s no one to blame but yourself. That can be a scary idea to many people, so they take refuge in the safety of a career they don’t like, or a life they are not happy with.

That safety is only an illusion, though. You can be fired. The person you are with could decide to move on. Anything could happen.

The only thing you should do is to have the courage to build the life you want to live.

Sure, it might disappear tomorrow, but at least you will be living the life you want while it lasts instead of living someone else’s dream.
